Believe pillow August 30, 2012

Today’s post is about an order I did for a pillow with the word “Believe” on it.  A friend of mine, has a friend with cancer, and their mantra is to Believe, so I made this bright and cheery pillow for her.

ImageMy friend wrote a special message on a heart and I stitched that on the back of the pillow to personalize it.

ImageI make custom orders with what ever saying or quote a person would like.  Contact me if you are interested!

ImageMy daughter Sarah lost her best friend Kayla Konemann, in a tragic car accident a couple of weeks ago.  Please keep Sarah, the Konemann family and friends of Kayla in your prayers.  Also, my neighbor Arnold had a kidney transplant today, and I am sure he would appreciate your prayers too.  I am taking care of his tomato plants for him.  Count your blessings!  Elaine

New Stamping Club June 25, 2012

Filed under: Uncategorized — elainemwilson @ 7:36 pm

Hello!  I have been asked by several people when I am going to start teaching again, and I have decided to start a new stamping club!  Woo Hoo!  I am very excited about doing this, and about seeing you all again and about introducing new people to our love of stamping!  I am going to be doing this a lot differently than I have done in the past.  I will NOT be representing or selling for a company, in fact, I will not be selling product.  I may from time to time set out some of my own stamping products that I wish to sell but I will not be trying to sell you product from a company.  This is not going to be a stamping party.  It is going to be an on going club.  It will cost $5.00 per month to be a member of the club, and the only thing you will need to bring is adhesive.  This can be double sided tape, a double sided adhesive runner like Snail, or an ATG gun, what ever you like to use.  The $5.00 per month will cover the wear and tear on my stamps and equipment.  We will be making cards and tags with products from all sorts of companies, what a fun way to build up your card stash with out having to buy any products.  I will have stations set up with different cards that you will MOVE around to make.  One station will be a different Christmas card every month, so you can get a jump start on getting them done, and I also will have one station where you make a tag.  You can pick and choose what you make and how many of each item that you make.  Cards will cost $1.00 each and tags 50 cents.  For example, you may need sympathy cards for your card stash and you really like this card we are making this month.  You can choose to make one of them, or you can choose to make 5 of them.  At the end of the session when you are ready to leave, you will “check out” and pay your bill.  An example of a bill might be: club fee $5.00 plus actual cards and tags made, for this example we will say that you made 5 cards and 2 tags (the amount you actually make is up to you), so in this example your bill would be $11.00 ($5.00 club fee, $5.00 for the cards, and $1.00 for the two tags).  I hope I have explained this clearly.  If you have any questions, feel free to give me a call, my phone number is 608-403-4398, or you can email me at emsw61@yahoo.com

The club will be starting on Thursday, June 26th and I will be holding it in the Community Room in the apartment building that I live in.  I live in Friendship Terrace, and the address is 201 North Adams Street, Friendship WI.  It is a tan building right behind the courthouse in Friendship.  Parking is right in front of the building and there is also more parking next door.  The room has air conditioning, large picture windows to look out, sofa and chairs for you to visit and relax in, a bathroom, and little kitchen area.  If you would like to bring your lunch or supper along, a drink, or snacks, feel free too.  I am offering two sessions, a morning session from 10am to 1pm and an evening session from 5pm to 8 pm.  You can come and go during these sessions as you need to.  I will have instructions at each station so you can work at your own pace and I will be there to help you.  Feel free to share this email with your friends and please print a copy for yourself. Have a wonderful day!  Elaine

Imagine my delight when I came across the post on Mary Jo Williams-Price blog, Techno Stamper, that the card that I entered in TSCC225 sketch challenge was in the top 3 picks!  Her blog shows a snippet of it with a link to my blog to see the full size card.  I am very flattered.  Thanks Mary Jo!

Freshly Made Sketch #39 June 13, 2012

Today I decided to play along with the gals at Freshly Made Sketches.  Here is the link to there blog if you would like to see what the design team made or to play along.  http://www.freshlymadesketches.blogspot.com/2012/06/freshly-made-sketches-39-sketch-from.html  Here is the sketch:

I worked on spray painting some picture frames and other items for the house last night.  I ran out of aqua spray paint so I need to go buy some more and put the final touches on my stuff.  I also want to spray my calendar frame.  I wish it wasn’t so darn windy during the day all the time as it is harder to see how the coverage is going on in the evening.  I just went out and touched up my jewelery holder and a wall decoration that will be going in the bathroom with the Chocolate brown spray paint, and I sprayed some more clothes pins red.  I will have lots of cool projects to show you when I get them all finished!

Lady Di and I just had a gab fest, and then I quick made this card.  I had most of the elements all ready made so it went together fast.  Several years ago I made up these sundae dishes with Susie Smiths sizzix die.  I first cut it out of a Raisin Bran cereal box, and then ran the die through several times with different pattern papers and then I mixed and matched them to come up with this cute little sundae chipboard piece.  The background is embossed with the Stampin’ UP! Snow Burst embossing folder, and then I sponged it with a sponge dauber and Tim Holtz distress ink.  I think the little Snow Bursts kind of look like sprinkles!  The rick rack I dug out of my borders drawer.  It is so handy to have this stuff all made up.  It was made with the Papertrey Ink ric rac die.  I get so much use out of that.  I love it!  The phrase was stamped with SU’s Fabulous Phrases, and I used a Prima Flower and brad on the ice cream sundae.   Hmmmmmm……ice cream….where can I get me some!!!!!  Have a “sweet” day!  Elaine

Old Friends

Filed under: Uncategorized — elainemwilson @ 12:10 am

Make new friends, but keep the old, one is silver and the others gold.  We used to sing this song at Girl Scout camp and I believe it is a good motto to live by.  I love making new friends but also treasure my oldest friends.  Today, I had lunch with an old friend, Jeannette Veeder Woodruff Batko.  I have know Jeannette since I was a little girl and I love her dearly.  She is home for a visit and we were so fortunate to have lunch with her today.  My mom made us a delicious lunch of Chicken Salad sandwiches, fresh fruit salad, chips, and cheesecake.  Yummy….I will be back for lunch again tomorrow Mom!   LOL  We sat in the living room where Mom and Dad have their kitchen table next to the picture window over looking Friendship lake.  They have a beautiful view and the Canadian geese were there today which were a treat to see, along with a young cardinal at the bird feeder.  I took a nap after I got home this afternoon as I had this nagging little headache all day long.  Since I have been up, I have been buzzing around.  I did dishes, balanced the check book and gathered up, and washed a bunch of items I hope to spray paint tonight.  I am waiting for the wind to die down some.

This is a dish cloth that I crocheted a couple of weeks ago.  I taught this pattern to Jenna.  She is just about finished with hers.  I have had several people asking me to teach some crocheting classes.  If you would be interested in learning to crochet, would you please email me, call, or let me know in the comment section!?!  Thanks!  Elaine

Welcome to my new blog! May 27, 2012

When I first started blogging, I did it because I had joined the stamping world and as a Stampin’ UP! demonstrator it was something you did to reach out to your stamping customers.  I found out that I really liked blogging and that it was a good way to keep in touch with family and friends, especially the ones that live far away.  My original blog is called Stamp Your Heart Out! elainemwilson.blogspot.com .  I found that as time went on, I was posting all the craft projects I was working on and not just stamping.  So I decided that with this blog, I would change the name and just keep it simple, so as I grown and change, it changes along with me.  I hope you enjoy my new blog!
