I am absolutely loving this cooler weather.  It is great!  Jenna stopped at the flea market on Sunday afternoon with the two kids and I took Mason for a walk with the stroller and passed out books to the vendors.  Many of the vendors were excited to see him and were spoiling him rotten.  We came home with a whole bunch of new toys.  He has lots of new little cars and trucks to play with and we had a wonderful time playing with them on one of the benches at the flea market.  When we closed the flea market, he came home with me for awhile and he played with the neighbor boys in the sandbox and Lisa and I visited.  Such a lovely day to be outside.  We had supper at Mom and Dad’s with Jenna and Valentina.  Mom had baked some chocolate muffins and Mason thought they were birthday cakes, much to his delight….so we sang “Happy Birthday to him”!!!  His birthday is coming up.  He will be 2 on August 18th.  Hard to believe.  I swear….the older you get, the faster that time flies by!!

These are some new crochet rings that I am making.  A fun little project, working with crochet thread.  Time to head to bed for this girly!  Have a good one.  Elaine

Another weekend has come and gone, and tomorrow will be Monday.  YEAH!  Play day for Elaine!  I am waiting for Diana to get back to town, she is coming to spend the night with me tonight.  It will be our last sleepover for this summer as she will be going home soon, Friday, I believe.  We will all sure miss her.

I just finished watching the movie Courageous.  It was very good and I really enjoyed it.  I am glad to see that they are making movies like this, and movies like Fireproof.  Movies with good Christian values, that have good examples of what marriage should be like, and how we are to lead our children to love God.  Our young people need more direction and examples to follow.  Our society sure is a mess, and it just seems to keep getting worse.  Any whoo….if you haven’t seen either of these movies….check them out!

I have another hat to show you, this one is a girls hat and it was the first one that I made a rolled rose flower for.  I like how it turned out.  It really adds texture and dimension to the hat.  Have a great Monday!  Elaine

Crocheted baby blanket July 28, 2012

Here is a little baby blanket that I crocheted.  It is a small one, meant to be used to cover a baby up, or to use in a car seat.  Sometimes it is nice to have one a little bit smaller so you don’t have all that bulk, or have the blanket dragging on the ground.  Pretty colors in this variegated yarn, and I love how the yellow ruffle turned out on the edge of the blanket.

I just finished having a BLT salad with Honey Mustard dressing on it.  I love having fresh tomato’s off my tomato plant.  It was a gift from Sarah and I am thoroughly enjoying it!

A hunting we will go….

Another busy week in Mayberry.   I went to Tomah with Diane on Tuesday.  She had a doctor’s appointment and we did some shopping.  It is good to be stocked up on groceries again!  Tuesday night, Diana came home with me and we had another sleepover.  I sure am going to miss her when she goes back to Milwaukee next week.  I think we will try and get another sleep over in before she goes.  We have had lots of them in the past two months.  Thursday I headed down to Sarah’s to house sit and take care of the cat and dog and I came home this evening.   I have chosen not to say anything before now, but I have been spending as much time as I can with her, trying to support her and  in prayer, as it has been a really rough year for her.  She has filed for divorce.  She has done everything possible to try and save her marriage, but it isn’t meant to be.  So please keep her in your thoughts and prayers.

I am telling you this as I hope it will help you to understand some of the decisions that I have made, and my inability to keep up with the blog.  It has really been a crazy year (or two 🙂 ) for me and my family.  I love my family so much, and they come first.  I hope that you can understand that.

In the meantime, I have crochet 6 of these blaze orange hunting hats.  I usually crochet while I am at the flea market, and sometimes when I am at Jenna’s baby sitting.  YARN, was one of the first words Mason learned!  Ha ha.

I will be at the flea market over the weekend.  Stop in and say hello!   Elaine

This is an owl mug cozy that I made Susie Smith for her birthday.  I picked up a bunch of mugs last weekend and I will be making them to sell soon.  I am so happy with how he turned out. Sooooo…..cute!

This is a side view.  It unbuttons around the handle so you can take it off to wash the mug.  I love the pretty variegated yarns.  Right now I am working on blaze orange hunting hats, and pretty crochet flower rings.  Stop back soon to see my latest goodies.  Thanks for visiting!  Elaine

Another extremely hot weekend cooking away at the flea market!  We got done early today, around 2:30 and I was so glad to hit the air conditioning and to take a 2 1/2 hour nap.  I sure needed it.  I don’t think I have ever sweat as much as I did today.  The sweat was just running off of my face.

I was working on church book keeping tonight.  I have all the bills paid, now I need to start working on reports, but have done enough of it for today.

Here is another fun hat I recently finished.  It is a really pretty pattern.  I am working on blaze orange hunting hats right now, and will have some pictures of them for you soon.  Stay safe, and stay cool!  Elaine

I love the colors in this Newsboy Hat, blues, purples, and green.  Such a pretty mix.  Variegated yarns tend to be my favorite, but I make a lot of solid color hats too.

It has been crazy busy this week.  My sister and her family were here, Mason spent a day with me, Diana spent a day with me, I went to Marshfield with Carol, church work, etc.  I am looking forward to a peaceful day today….hopefully!

I got in a little bit of quilting last night, in between a nap and early bedtime.  I was tired out and sure needed the extra sleep.

I think I will rustle up some eggs, hash browns, and toast now.  Have a great day!
