Color Throw Down #196 June 18, 2012

Filed under: Cards — elainemwilson @ 5:46 pm

When I saw the color’s for the throw down challenge, I just knew I had to play.  What a lovely set of color’s to play with!

I am posting the inspiration swatch down below.

I am getting this in under the wire as this challenge closes today and they will have a new one starting tomorrow.

I hope you find this card inspiring, it is a really quick and simple one, but sometimes clean, simple, and classic are best!

I am enjoying my time at home this morning.  The weekend sure was packed full.  It feels good to just relax and play a little bit!

Just a quick post to show you some 3D flower’s I made and put on a card that I hand delivered.  Mind you…I do not know where the picture of the actual card disappeared to, but I thought you might enjoy seeing the flowers anyways.

These were made with different size flower dies that I cut out  with the Big shot.  I distressed the edges with some Tim Holtz distress ink.  I love this particular color for distressing.  I believe the name of it is Wild Honey.  I crinkled the flowers up  and some of the flowers I cut slits in to make them more petaly.  Spell check loves these words that I make up!  LOL  Last but not least, a brad goes in the center.

I was at the flea market today, made a stop at Pamida on the way home, hung up the new picture I bought for the bathroom, and drilled screws in the wall to hang up my jewelry rack that I spray painted this week.  The decorating continues!  After my two hour nap, I baked a cake for the picnic I will be attending tomorrow, had supper, did dishes, made a gift tag for my dad’s Father’s day gift and got that ready to go, and had a couple of phone calls.  Busy, busy, and I need another nap!  LOL  I hope you all are enjoying the weekend!!!  Elaine

A quick card June 15, 2012

I should be in bed but as you can see I am not.  I am about ready to head there, but thought I would do a quick post.  I didn’t have time to do any card making today but I keep some photo’s of things I’ve made in reserve so that I always have something to post.  I went to Tomah today with Lady Di to her doctor’s appointment and then we went over to Walmart to do some shopping.  I needed to pick up some more aqua spray paint, and hopefully the weather will be cooperative so that I can finish up that project.  It was too windy this afternoon when I got home to spray.  We had a delicious lunch at the Chinese buffet.  We like to eat there when we go to Tomah.   Have a wonderful Friday!  Elaine

This is the other card that I made for Jen and I also decided to play along with Mary Jo Price – Williams sketch challenge at Techno Stamper.  Both of the sketchesI did today I saved in my sketches folder on my computer.  Using a sketch saves a lot of time, and kind of jump starts the creative process.  I took these pictures outside on my little patio today.  It is a nice, bright sunshiney day here, even though it is hotter than heck!

As you can see, I am in kind of a lavender/purple mood today.  I absolutely love my new filing system for storing paper scraps.  Every thing is neat and organized, and I can find things so quickly and I find myself reaching for that instead of new paper, so they are really getting used up!  Love it!

Well this chickadee is ready for some lunch.  Here is a link to Mary Jo’s blog and the sketch.  Make it a great day!  Elaine

CPS #269 Card Sketch Challenge

Filed under: Cards — elainemwilson @ 6:16 pm

Happy Monday!  I am happy because I get to be in the air conditioning today and also that I have no plans for today until tonight and I can play today!  YEAH!  Susie Smith was over this morning to pick up the church key and for a short visit.  After she left, I started working on cards and I made this for the Card Positioning System Challenge #269.  This is the sketch we were to follow:

and here is a link if you would like to see the players cards or to play along your self!

I decided to kill two birds with one stone as they say, and I used a Verve: Plain Jane verse.  Jenna asked me to make some scripture cards for her so this is one of the cards I will give to her, and so will be the card on the next post I am doing as I am playing along on another challenge for that one.  It feels great to actually have some time to play along.  It has been quite the year for our family will lots of health issues.  It is nice to have everyone healthy right now!  🙂  Stay Cool!!!  Elaine

Pals Paper Art Challenge June 10, 2012

Filed under: Cards — elainemwilson @ 6:20 am

I made this card to participate in the Pals Paper Art Challenge.  The challenge was to use Red, White and Blue, which I love, so I thought it would be fun to play!  I do have a little bit of green in it too as the leaves are green but the over all effect is very Red, White, and Blue so I don’t think that will hurt.  Here is the link if you would like to see the samples they made or to play along.  http://www.palspaperarts.com/

Hoo Hoo Hoo who loves you? June 8, 2012

Debi Wehby and I made a trip to Flowerbuds yesterday, and Debi bought some beautiful flowers to add to her lovely yard.  If you haven’t seen her yard, it is worth a trip to see it.  It is just beautiful.  Her home is kiddy corner from my old house.  Mason came to visit last night for a couple of hours, and I got a couple of loads of wash done.  After he left I started working on a baby afghan and watched a movie on Netflix.

Today’s card is a sweet little owl card that I made for Sarah Anne.  I hope she loves it as much as Jenna and I do!  I made some owls with Lady Di’s owl die’s when I was out there stamping a few weeks ago.  She sure has some cute one’s!

Stamp set: INK A DINK A DOO: Bird Assortment, Wood Grain Embossing folder: Darice, Wild Honey Distress Ink: Tim Holtz, Conversation Balloon: Mary punch, small heart punch: Stampin’ UP!, Owl die: I think it was an Archiver’s Die, otherwise Sizzix, I used 3 different dies of Diane’s and I can’t remember which one this owl was.
