New Stamping Club June 25, 2012

Filed under: Uncategorized — elainemwilson @ 7:36 pm

Hello!  I have been asked by several people when I am going to start teaching again, and I have decided to start a new stamping club!  Woo Hoo!  I am very excited about doing this, and about seeing you all again and about introducing new people to our love of stamping!  I am going to be doing this a lot differently than I have done in the past.  I will NOT be representing or selling for a company, in fact, I will not be selling product.  I may from time to time set out some of my own stamping products that I wish to sell but I will not be trying to sell you product from a company.  This is not going to be a stamping party.  It is going to be an on going club.  It will cost $5.00 per month to be a member of the club, and the only thing you will need to bring is adhesive.  This can be double sided tape, a double sided adhesive runner like Snail, or an ATG gun, what ever you like to use.  The $5.00 per month will cover the wear and tear on my stamps and equipment.  We will be making cards and tags with products from all sorts of companies, what a fun way to build up your card stash with out having to buy any products.  I will have stations set up with different cards that you will MOVE around to make.  One station will be a different Christmas card every month, so you can get a jump start on getting them done, and I also will have one station where you make a tag.  You can pick and choose what you make and how many of each item that you make.  Cards will cost $1.00 each and tags 50 cents.  For example, you may need sympathy cards for your card stash and you really like this card we are making this month.  You can choose to make one of them, or you can choose to make 5 of them.  At the end of the session when you are ready to leave, you will “check out” and pay your bill.  An example of a bill might be: club fee $5.00 plus actual cards and tags made, for this example we will say that you made 5 cards and 2 tags (the amount you actually make is up to you), so in this example your bill would be $11.00 ($5.00 club fee, $5.00 for the cards, and $1.00 for the two tags).  I hope I have explained this clearly.  If you have any questions, feel free to give me a call, my phone number is 608-403-4398, or you can email me at emsw61@yahoo.com

The club will be starting on Thursday, June 26th and I will be holding it in the Community Room in the apartment building that I live in.  I live in Friendship Terrace, and the address is 201 North Adams Street, Friendship WI.  It is a tan building right behind the courthouse in Friendship.  Parking is right in front of the building and there is also more parking next door.  The room has air conditioning, large picture windows to look out, sofa and chairs for you to visit and relax in, a bathroom, and little kitchen area.  If you would like to bring your lunch or supper along, a drink, or snacks, feel free too.  I am offering two sessions, a morning session from 10am to 1pm and an evening session from 5pm to 8 pm.  You can come and go during these sessions as you need to.  I will have instructions at each station so you can work at your own pace and I will be there to help you.  Feel free to share this email with your friends and please print a copy for yourself. Have a wonderful day!  Elaine

Here is another one of my spray paint projects.  This was a picture frame that had a mat in it that you can insert photo’s to have a framed photo collage.  I ditched all that stuff, and just kept the cardboard backing.  I used cork that comes in a roll, glued that to the cardboard, and then covered it with fabric which I glued to the back of the cardboard.  Walah!  Then all you have to do is stick it all in the frame and push down all of the staples that are attached to the frame.  I hung it in my living/stamping area.  Now I need to find somethings to pin up on it.  I also sprayed the Stamping Sister’s frame that is hanging to the right of it.  As always, if you want to see something closer, click on the photo to make it larger.

Yesterday was a joyous day.  Our little Valentina was baptized.  I will post a couple of pictures from the baptism another day.  My camera is at Jenna’s right now so you will have to wait!  😀  I had Mister Mason over night last night.  He was content to sit on Grammies lap in the recliner, watching the Aristocats (last night, and again this morning) and Thomas the Train.  He had more fun taking my crochet hooks in and out of the pouch, handing them to me, putting them back in the pouch, and zipping it shut.  Who needs toys when you have Gram’s lap to cuddle in and crochet hooks to play with!?!?!  Elaine

Sweet Baby Valentina June 21, 2012

Man it is hot out side!  And I was out and about two different times today running around doing errands.  I am glad to be inside, in the air conditioning relaxing now.  I have had a headache for hours and should have taken a nap, but I decided to keep plugging away at things and go to bed early tonight.

This scrapbook stand was another one of my spray painting projects.  I am doing the craft/living room area in aqua and red.  I love that color combination together!  It goes good with my “50’s” table that has red chairs.  I made this scrapbook page of Valentina last week.  The designer paper I printed off the computer and is the Enchanted Paper off of the Sale-A-Bration CD.  I love, love, this paper and you will be seeing more of it, and other sheets from that pack as I printed off 20 sheets to make things for around my house.  It has the aqua and red in it and goes so nicely with the look I am going for.

I hope you enjoyed the picture of  “Our little Princess” !  Elaine

Decorating the bathroom June 20, 2012

Filed under: Decorating — elainemwilson @ 6:24 am

Hello!  I mentioned in some of my post’s last week that I was doing some spray painting.  Here is one of the items that I did.  I love how it turned out and how it looks on my wall.  It was a fifty cent find at Practical Cents.  I may make or put a bird in it at some time but it makes me smile every time I walk into the bathroom now.  The 3D effect and how it sticks out from the wall just  completes things.

The picture is new too.  I just bought it at Pamida for 50% off, so it was only $7.00!  And it goes so well with my shower curtain.  The photo of the shower curtain doesn’t do it justice.  It is really much prettier in person.  The bathroom is small and it  is hard to take pictures in there, but I did the best that I could!

I got my curtains hung up in the bedroom yesterday.  I ended up taking the blinds down as the curtain rods wouldn’t fit over the top of them, so it ended up being a longer project than I thought it would be.  Kind of how all the projects I worked on lately have been!

It really feels good to be getting some of these projects done.

I had supper at Jenna’s tonight, and I was entertaining Valentina while Jenna was doing some baking.  Valentina was talking up a storm tonight.  She loves watching Sesame Street and she isn’t quite 3 months old yet.  Her favorite part of the show is Abbey’s flying fairy school.  Probably because there is lots of pink and bling and that Abbey talks in a high voice, who knows, but she was just a cooing and talking to Abbey today.

Mason get’s all excited about reading books on my Kindle and tonight we read a big Arthur book that some one gave them about bring home a new baby sister.  It has lots of flaps you flip up which he loves and he really likes the picture of the baby spitting up.  LOL   He can relate to that as he likes to wipe Valentina’s face when she spits up, and even when she doesn’t.  She tolerates it pretty well…after about the twelfth time, she will start to fuss when she gets sick of it!   She got me good with the spit up tonight, at a time I wasn’t expecting it and didn’t have the burp cloth.  All over my shoulder!

At one point when I first arrived, I had Valentina asleep in one arm in the recliner and Mason came down from his nap and he wanted to snuggle with Grammie too so he was in the other arm.  It is so much fun to have them so close now and seeing them just about every day.  I love it!

I hope that you enjoyed seeing a little piece of my world.  Have a wonderful day!  Elaine

Imagine my delight when I came across the post on Mary Jo Williams-Price blog, Techno Stamper, that the card that I entered in TSCC225 sketch challenge was in the top 3 picks!  Her blog shows a snippet of it with a link to my blog to see the full size card.  I am very flattered.  Thanks Mary Jo!

A picnicing we will go!

Filed under: Crochet — elainemwilson @ 6:49 am

Happy Father’s Day!  Today I had the pleasure of going to the Wilson Annual Father’s Day picnic.  It was beautiful sitting in the shade at John and Joni Wilson’s home, sitting in their lovely pavilion and enjoying their beautiful flower gardens, pond, etc.  Chasing Mason around the yard, eating great food, visiting, and holding sweet V, what more could a person ask for.  A wonderful day….that’s for sure.  And two new pregnant Mama’s to be, the next Father’s Day picnic we will have two new father’s to celebrate, and babies to hold.  How life goes on.  I hope your Father’s Day was as enjoyable as mine was!

Today’s photo’s are of a couple of more Newsboys Hats that I recently finished.  Both of these are size 2T to 4T.  Mason had a great time modeling one of these for me.  He kept pulling it down over his eye’s and grinning.  He is quite the little ham.  He had SO much fun today at the picnic.  He loved playing with the dog, riding and steering the lawn mower with Uncle John, seeing baby chicks and pigeons, petting the moo’s which are actually horses that neighbor their property.  Lots for him to do, and he ran around for hours playing.  He zonked out on my shoulder while Jen was feeding Valentina and I put him in the car seat, and he slept all the way home, I carried him into the house and he slept in my arms another hour or so.  He was wiped, but he woke up happy and stayed in Grammies arms another hour or so, and I received lots of kisses from the happy boy!

Thanks for stopping by…until tomorrow!  Elaine
