Here is a quick card that I made but it looks so springish!  The card base was embossed with a Cuttlebug embossing folder.  I cut out the tag shape with a Sizzix die and inked the edges with PTI Fresh snow.  The flower and greeting are from PTI: Flower Fushion#12.  I love this set and I love how the flower looks like fabric and of course I love the button center.  Love me buttons!!!  The DSP is some retired SU paper and the ribbon is SU.  I cut the butterfly out of a Cuttlebug die.  A simple card but cute.  Sometimes less is better!

Lady Di and I went to Little Ole’s for supper last night and we had a nice time.  We had the fried chicken (which Di has been craving) and it was very good.  Have a wonderful day!  Elaine

For those of you that have been following the blog, you know that I participated in Paper Trey Ink’s Make it Monday contest.  The contest runs one week with a new challenge each Monday.  The winner of the challenge is randomly drawn and will be selected next Monday and they will receive a $25.00 gift certificate for Paper Trey Ink.  Each day of the challenge, they select one card that is their favorite, and they tweet about it and put a picture of it on Face book.  Well, yesterday my card was selected!!  It is just a little thing, but it nice to have your work recognized.  I am very flattered!! a

I bet a lot of you will recognize this stamp set.  It is a Stampin’ UP!  Retired Hostess set called Love & Care.  It makes such a beautiful quick card.  I love that about this stamp set!

Another busy day in Mayberry at the flea market.  I was home for awhile after it and then Jenna and I decided that I should ride along with her to the Dells.  I ran into Joann’s before they closed and they stayed in the van.  Man, they were running some good sales.  Some items were on sale for 50 percent off and then you could also use a 10% coupon on top of that on your entire purchase.  So I was a happy camper!!!  Then we headed over to Walmart and picked up a few things.  Of course Valentina likes to be fed just about every hour so we had to make time for that before heading back home.

Today I am going to show you some hats I have been crocheting.  The first two are called Newsboy and these two are size 3 to 6 months.  The last one is a baby bear hat and is also a 3 to 6 months.  They make great baby gifts, and they are so cute on the babies.

Thank you to all past and present veterans for keeping America free!  I hope you all had a great weekend!  Elaine

Man, it was a hot one! May 28, 2012

It sure was a hot one at the flea market today.  I was sweating bullets!  Sarah was here on Sat. and Sun. to help us and I really enjoyed this extra time with her.  She bought me lunch today, and I had a pulled pork sandwich, with coleslaw, chips and pickles for only $5.00.  It was so yummy!!!!!

I have a touching story to tell about the flea market.  A gal was trying on a crochet hat I made, and was looking for a mirror so we had her come up to the front behind the counter where there was a mirror.  We told her that she looked so cute it in.  My sister thought so too!  It was perfect for her.  The gal really liked it also and told me that it was just what she was looking for, that she was starting chemo soon, and she said that she wanted to look “normal”.  I don’t want to look like that she said, I want to look good.  She took that hat and another one in a different style.  She said she was going to wear one to work and the other one for other times.  She thought the hats were so adorable and told me that I should be at the Cancer Center (in the Rapids).  I thought that was so nice and it made me so happy to make her so happy.  I asked her name, and  I told her that I would pray for her.  She told me her name, and thanked me, and said it is not that bad, with all the advance in medicine now, and I agreed with her that it is amazing what they can do now.  I wished her the best and they, (she and her husband) went on their way.

Tonight we had the whole family together for supper except for Antonio and Zach, and we had a real nice evening.  Lenore has a dog named Pepper who is crazy about Mason, and Mason is crazy about him.  We think it is because they are about the same height.  Pepper is always licking Mason on the face, and Mason runs around squealing with delight.  I am sure both Pepper and Mason will sleep good tonight!!!

I used several different stamp sets on today’s card: the verse is from Papertrey Ink’s (PTI) Flower Fushion #12, which is stamped inside of PTI Fillable Frames #4 and it was cut out with the matching die.  The H is from the Stampin’ UP!  (SU) stamp set: Strength and Hope and I punched it out with the 1 1/4″ & 1 3/8″ Circle punches for a layered look.  The white background was embossed with SU’s square lattice embossing folder and it was matted on a scalloped square cut out with a scalloped square nestabilitie die.  The card stock is SU Riding Hood Red and some matching retired SU paper.  SU black and white gingham finishes off the card.

One more day of the holiday weekend left at the flea market.  I hope that tomorrow is cooler!  Stop down and say “hi” and see all the goodies I have been making!!  Till tomorrow…..Elaine

When I first started blogging, I did it because I had joined the stamping world and as a Stampin’ UP! demonstrator it was something you did to reach out to your stamping customers.  I found out that I really liked blogging and that it was a good way to keep in touch with family and friends, especially the ones that live far away.  My original blog is called Stamp Your Heart Out! elainemwilson.blogspot.com .  I found that as time went on, I was posting all the craft projects I was working on and not just stamping.  So I decided that with this blog, I would change the name and just keep it simple, so as I grown and change, it changes along with me.  I hope you enjoy my new blog!
